How to backup and restore favorites or bookmark

Solution:

Internet Explorer

  1. Within Internet Explorer, click the File menu and Import and Export
  2. Within the Import and Export window click Next
  3. Click Export Favorites and click next
  4. Select the folder you want to backup; if you want to backup all favorites, leave the Favorites folder highlighted and click next
  5. Select the destination where you want to save your favorites and click Next
  6. Click Finish

Google chrome

How to backup and restore bookmarks with Google account

  1. Open the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar by clicking the Chrome Settings button Chrome Settings button (3dots) on the right top corner
  2. Select Sign in to Chrome
  3. Enter your Google account information
  4. All of your settings and bookmarks should be loaded

Backup and restore bookmarks in Google Chrome with Bookmark Manager

To backup (export) chrome bookmarks, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Chrome Settings button Chrome Settings button in the upper right corner to open the Chrome menu
  2. In the menu, select Bookmarks, then Bookmark Manager
  3. On the Bookmark Manager tab, click the gear icon Chrome Bookmarks gear icon towards the upper right
  4. Select Export bookmarks in the pop-up menu and save the exported bookmarks file to your computer

To restore (import) bookmarks in chrome, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Chrome Settings button Chrome Settings button in the upper right corner to open the Chrome menu
  2. In the menu, select Bookmarks, then Bookmark Manager
  3. On the Bookmark Manager tab, click the gear icon Chrome Bookmarks gear icon towards the upper right
  4. Select Import bookmarks in the pop-up menu, locate the file containing the Chrome bookmarks and click OK to import the bookmarks

Mozilla Firefox

Recent Version Firefox backup

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox
  2. Click the Bookmarks icon Firefox Bookmarks icon and then Show All Bookmarks
  3. In the Library window, click Import and Backup
  4. Click Export Bookmarks to HTML or click Backup. We recommend exporting to HTML since all browsers support the ability to read these files
  5. Select where you want to save the exported bookmarks file to, enter the name of the file (if you want to name it something other than the default file name) and then click the Save button

Recovering bookmarks in recent version of Firefox

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox
  2. Click the Bookmarks icon Firefox Bookmarks icon and then Show All Bookmarks
  3. In the Library window, click Import and Backup
  4. If the file is a JSON file, click Restore and Choose File. If the file is a .HTM/.HTML file or other browser file click Import Bookmarks from HTML and follow the import wizard.

Previous version of Firefox backup

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox
  2. Click Bookmarks and then Organize Bookmarks
  3. Click Export HTML or Click Import and Backup, and then Backup. We suggest Exporting to HTML since all browsers support the ability to read these files
  4. Type the file name you want to save the file as and the destination and then click the Save button.

Recovering favorites in previous version of Firefox

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox
  2. Click Bookmarks and then Organize Bookmarks
  3. Click Import and Backup
  4. If the file is a JSON file click Restore and choose File. If the file is a .HTM/.HTML file or other browser file click Import HTML and follow the import wizard

Other Version of Firefox backup

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox
  2. Click Bookmarks and then Manage Bookmarks
  3. In the Bookmarks Manager window click File and choose Export
  4. By default, your bookmarks file will be called bookmarks.html. Choose the location in which you want to save the bookmarks file and click the Save button
